At Steet Toyota, community has always been at the heart of what we do. That's why we were honored to once again sponsor a Minor B Baseball team in New Hartford this season, continuing a tradition that spans more than 30 years. Our connection to New Hartford youth baseball goes back to when Joe Steet Jr. first stepped onto the field as a tee-ball player three decades ago. Since then, the Steet family has proudly sponsored a team every year, supporting local athletes as they learn the game, build friendships, and develop important life skills through sports. This year's team made us incredibly proud. Throughout the season, these young athletes gave their all on the field. We enjoyed cheering them on, watching their confidence grow, and seeing their skills improve game after game. From the first practices of the season to the final out, the boys demonstrated teamwork, determination, sportsmanship, and a true love for the game. One of the highlights of the season came after the final game, when we revived a special tradition from Joe Jr.'s playing days. Years ago, when his season wrapped up, the team celebrated with ice cream courtesy of the dealership. This year, we were excited to bring that tradition back and treat the entire team to ice cream after their last game. The smiles, laughter, and memories shared by the players and their families reminded us exactly why supporting youth sports is so important. These programs help build confidence, encourage teamwork, and create lasting memories that extend far beyond the baseball diamond. We want to thank the coaches, parents, volunteers, and league organizers who dedicate so much time and effort to making youth baseball possible in our community. At Steet Toyota of Yorkville, supporting local youth programs and community traditions is something that has always been important to us. This year, our team had the opportunity to attend the New Hartford Little League Opening Ceremony, which brought together players, coaches, families, and teams from all leagues throughout New Hartford for a memorable kickoff to the season. The event began with the young players proudly marching from the Little League field to the Varsity Field in New Hartford. One of the most exciting moments of the ceremony was watching the New Hartford Varsity baseball team high-five all of the younger players as they entered the field — creating a special moment the kids will never forget. From there, each team was introduced over the loudspeakers while families and friends cheered from the stands, followed by team photos to capture the excitement of Opening Day. The first games of the season have already been so much fun to watch, and we are looking forward to another exciting summer of baseball, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community spirit. The Steet Ponte Auto Group team traded in the showroom floors for the ski slopes on Sunday, March 1st, as employees from across all of our dealerships gathered for our 6th Annual Company Ski & Snowboard Trip at beautiful Gore Mountain in North Creek, NY. This annual tradition has become a favorite event for our team, giving everyone the chance to step away from the busy winter sales season and enjoy a day outdoors together. Employees spent the day skiing and snowboarding across the mountain, taking in the incredible views and enjoying some of the best conditions of the season. After a winter filled with epic snowfall, the trails at Gore Mountain were in fantastic shape. Combined with the spring-like weather and sunshine, it made for a perfect day on the mountain. Whether team members were seasoned skiers or just getting comfortable on the slopes, everyone had a great time enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful Adirondack scenery. Midday, the group gathered for lunch at The Tannery Restaurant, where everyone warmed up, shared stories from the slopes, and enjoyed a relaxing break before heading back out for more skiing in the afternoon. Events like our annual ski trip are a great reminder of how special the Steet Ponte Auto Group team truly is. We’re proud to create opportunities for our employees from all eight stores to connect, build friendships, and make memories outside of work. Partnering once again with the incredible team at Freedom Guide Dogs, the event brought our community together to support an organization dedicated to changing lives. For decades, Freedom Guide Dogs has provided highly trained guide dogs to individuals who are blind or visually impaired and to veterans in need of mobility assistance. Their work empowers people with independence, confidence, and companionship, something we were honored to help celebrate and support. A Longstanding Connection with Toyota Over the past three decades, Freedom Guide Dogs has purchased countless Toyota Sienna vans to help transport their puppies and working dogs safely and comfortably. The spacious interior, reliability, and versatility of the Sienna make it an ideal vehicle for transporting training groups, equipment, and of course the stars of the show—the future guide dogs themselves. Seeing these puppies up close was a highlight for everyone who attended, and a powerful reminder of the dedication and training that goes into preparing guide dogs for their life-changing roles. An Interactive Experience for Attendees One of the most impactful parts of the day was an interactive obstacle course hosted by Freedom Guide Dogs. Participants were invited to wear blindfolds and navigate the course with Seymour, experiencing firsthand the trust and teamwork required between a guide dog and their handler. It was an eye-opening experience that helped attendees better understand the importance of guide dogs and the remarkable work organizations like Freedom Guide Dogs perform every day. As part of our continued sponsorship with the Utica Comets, we’re proud to offer two “Kids Night Out” games each season—special nights dedicated to our employees and their families. After a great first event back in November, we were excited to host our second Family Night on January 25th, when the Comets took on the Syracuse Crunch —and it did not disappoint.
