Working air conditioning in your vehicle can make the difference between a cool and relaxing ride or an exhausting, uncomfortable trek. Having regular air conditioning inspections ensures that your Toyota's climate system is always operating smoothly. Our Toyota dealership is sharing five signs that your vehicle needs air conditioning maintenance. 5 Signs You Need Air Conditioning Maintenance At Our Toyota Dealership 1. Warm Air Blowing Out One of the biggest indicators that something is wrong with your Toyota's air conditioning is warm air blowing out of the vents when you turn the AC on. This typically happens when there are issues with the system's refrigerant, a substance that is responsible for drawing heat from air before it exits your vents. Our technicians can inject a special dye into your AC system to detect if there are any refrigerant leaks or check for other possible causes, such as a failing clutch switch or a damaged compressor. 2. No Air Blowing Out While warm air is a bad sign for your air conditioner, so is no air at all. If you turn on your Toyota's AC and nothing happens, there may be something wrong with the blower fan or resistor. Faulty wiring or issues within your Toyota's electrical system can also stop air from flowing properly through the climate system. 3. Water Leaking Does water leak from your vents when you turn the air conditioning on? Your Toyota's climate system has a drain line that removes condensation from your vehicle, but if this line is clogged or damaged, it causes condensation to exit through the vents. A technician can easily clear or replace your drain line to stop this leaking. 4. Foul Odors If you smell bad odors coming from your vents when you turn the AC on, your system may be in need of a deep cleaning. This often happens when your vehicle's air conditioning hasn't been used in a while, causing dirt, dust, mold, and mildew to build up within the system. A professional cleanse with antibacterial cleaning products can resolve this problem in no time! 5. Weird Noises Strange noises indicate that your vehicle's climate system is under stress. If there's a bearing inside the system that's worn down, it can cause a grinding, squealing sound. If something has gotten caught in your air intake or blower, you might hear knocking and rattling noises coming from your system. Is your Toyota showing any of these signs of faulty air conditioning? Air conditioning maintenance is recommended one to two times a year to make sure your car's system is in peak condition.
