3 Benefits of Toyota’s Extended Warranty Plans

Every new Toyota is covered by a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty that protects it against any unforeseen issues with the materials or labor used in its construction. This comprehensive warranty will eventually expire, but you can extend your warranty benefits by choosing a Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA).  As your Toyota dealership, we want to tell you more about some of the benefits of choosing one of these extension options.

Three Different Plans 

You have three plan options to choose from depending on your needs and requirements. The basic agreement, the Powertrain Protection VSA, focuses on the components that comprise the powertrain, the systems that enable your vehicle to move. This agreement covers components in the engine, transmission, and axle assembly. In addition, if you have a hybrid, its drive components are also protected.

The next level up is the Gold Protection VSA. This agreement covers everything in the above VSA together with components in the steering, climate control, front and rear suspensions, fuel and electrical systems, and additional specialized hybrid systems, if applicable. Finally, the Platinum Protection VSA covers every system and component in your Toyota except those specifically excluded in the VSA contract.

Additional Benefits

All three VSAs include a range of benefits that apply for the agreement duration. Roadside assistance is available 24/7/365 to help with any issues you might face on the road. If something goes wrong, expert technicians will be dispatched to you. They can change a flat, jump-start your Toyota, provide lockout assistance, winch you from a ditch, tow you to a dealer, or deliver emergency fuel.

If your vehicle can’t be driven due to a mechanical issue covered by the VSA, help is available. If you’re 150 miles or more from home, you’ll receive up to $50 daily for food, lodging, and transport. In addition, you can receive up to $35 per day to pay for car rental.

Flexible Options

Each plan has the flexibility to customize it to your needs. You can choose an agreement length from three years or 50,000 miles up to ten years or 125,000 miles. The VSA you choose automatically activates when your original warranty expires, providing seamless coverage.

You can also choose the deductible you want from either $0, $100, or a $100 disappearing deductible. The disappearing deductible is waived if you take your vehicle to the dealer where you got your VSA for the repair. If you sell your vehicle, the remaining portion of your VSA is transferrable to the new owner.
