We sponsored the amazing Fire Truck Spectacular for the 10th year in a row this year! The event is always a huge success, drawing thousands of local residents to the New Hartford Shopping Center. There, you can find fire trucks and rescue vehicles from area Fire Departments such as New Hartford, Whitesboro, Utica, Floyd, Sylvan Beach, and New York Mills, NY. This is a free event, held conveniently in the parking lot of the Shopping Center directly in front of Nicky Doodles Ice Cream! The event is geared towards kids and families to educate on fire prevention and safety, with a smokehouse, contest with firemen to see who can gear up the fastest, police vehicles and a rescue helicopter that lands at the end of the show. Our personal favorite? The sirens that all of the trucks let off at the very end as they depart!

We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to our Sales Manager, Brian Mathias, on his recent graduation from the National Auto Dealers Association Dealer Academy! The Dealer Academy is a rigorous, year-long course for employees within a car dealership. The employee must apply to the program, and be sponsored by the dealer principal to be accepted. This is the 44th year the program has graduated a program, and the 473rd class that has graduated! The academy headquarters is located in Tysons Corner, VA, but since the pandemic, the course is now offered online as well. 
 

For an entire year, Brian undertook 4 hour classes, 2 days a week with many long hours of homework assignments, discussion boards, and group projects. He said he thoroughly enjoyed the process, and getting a better understanding of the departments that he doesn’t normally work in as the course goes through the inner-workings of a dealership, with each unit covering a different department of the store. 
 

He had a great group of men he worked with on projects throughout the year, that he looks forward to staying in contact with as this has provided a great networking opportunity for him! We are so proud of his accomplishments and look forward to seeing what ideas and strategies he is able to implement within Steet Toyota of Yorkville!

It’s almost that time of the year!! Our Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest is being held on the day of our Holiday Lunch Party on Thursday, December 23rd. We’re so excited to see what kind of turnout we have this year! Winners from the following categories will be chosen by none other than Joe Steet Sr. and Steve Ponte Sr. for: Funniest, Best DIY, Most Holiday Spirit, Most Unique, Best Pop Culture, Joe’s Favorite, Steve’s Favorite, Ugliest Ugly Sweater.

The Toyota Venza is a compact crossover SUV with an available hybrid powertrain. It’s an efficient vehicle with a good amount of cargo space. It also has an attractive exterior. Here at Steet Toyota of Yorkville, we think Toyota fans in Yorkville will appreciate the great exterior features of this crossover SUV.

Many of the exterior features of the Venza add to its overall visual appeal. The base trim comes with a set of 19-inch wheels made from a super-chrome alloy. These have a stylish multi-spoke design. A unique, LED taillight design gives the car a distinct appearance from behind. There’s a set of LED headlights up front as well.

Some of the exterior features add to the Venza’s efficiency. The body design was made to be aerodynamic. There are also aerodynamic underbody panels, black rocker panels and an integrated rear spoiler. The exterior also features daytime running lights to make the Venza more visible.

The Toyota Land Cruiser, a reliable SUV that is well-known for its safety features. The Land Cruiser has won multiple awards for having the best safety features in the industry. It was ranked as one of the safest cars on the market by Consumer Reports and IIHS testing. With these great safety ratings, it’s no wonder why many families are considering this vehicle when looking to purchase an SUV!

The safety features of the Land Cruiser include:

Driver and front passenger airbags, side curtain airbags protecting all three rows, four-wheel ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Active Head Restraints in front seats, Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) with Traction Control System (TCS). Basically this car is a tank! So it’s no surprise that the Land Cruiser is a safe SUV.

Other safety features on the Land Cruiser include:

– Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) to prevent skids
– Brake Assist, offering maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected or the driver depresses the brake pedal with more force than normal.
– Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors individual tire pressure for optimal safety and efficiency.

And we’re BACK with our monthly staff introductions at Steet Toyota and we’ve got an extra special one this month as it marks our General Manager, Greg Wrate’s 30th YEAR AT THIS STORE!!! When we first purchased the former Hoff Toyota, almost all of the employees stayed on with us for many years, Greg included! 

If you’ve ever been inside our store, you know that Greg runs a tight ship to keep this store running at its’ prime in all departments to always exceed your expectations! Whether its joining the team to help brush snow off the cars after a storm or holding a Monday morning meeting, Greg has been an integral part of Steet Toyota’s success all of these years! 

Greg lives locally in New Hartford with his wife where they raised their children. In his spare time, you’ll find Greg on the golf course or at a Utica Comets Hockey game! His favorite Toyota is the classic Toyota Celica as well as the Toyota Highlander. 

Help us give Greg a great 30th year celebration this year!!
